Blues & Sones: Cross Cultural Concert with Billy Branch

December 6, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

The Chicago History Museum presents Blues & Sones: Cross Cultural Concerts with Chicago’s Billy Branch and Sones de México Ensemble

Two Chicago based GRAMMY® nominated artists will share one stage when Mexican folk music ensemble Sones de México Ensemble joins forces with blues harmonica master Billy Branch and the Sons of Blues at DuSable Museum of African American History in Chicago.

The concert, presented by the Chicago History Museum in support of “Amplified”—a current exhibit on the history of the Chicago Blues, now through August 2019—will bring Sones de México and the Sons of Blues together for an exploration of the commonalities and differences between two musical traditions that arose out of the African experience in the Americas.

Free admission. RSVP at chicagohistory.org/event/blues-sones-crosscultural-concerts-with-chicagos-billy-branch-and-sones-de-mexico/

There is also a special matinee performance for schools at 11am. School groups should call Nancy Villafranca (312) 799-2150 for tickets.
