Titled “¡Canta! Radio Recuerdos\,” this free membership club offers a unique opportunity for seniors over 60 to connect\, reminisce\, and enjoy the joy of singing from the comfort of their home. \nLed by the singer and guitarist Juan Díes\, co-founder of the two-time Grammy-nominated Sones de México Ensemble\, and hosted by program assistant Alfredo Hernández\, “¡Canta! Radio Recuerdos” invites eligible seniors to join in on the musical festivities via Zoom. This virtual singalong club is a celebration of Latin music classics from Mexico and other Latin American countries. \nRegular Singalong Club:\n• First and third Thursday of the month\n• 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM \nMemory Care Singalong:\n• Tailored for seniors with memory loss\n• Follows the regular singalong club\, starting at 12:00 PM\n• Caretakers are welcome to join \nSeptember 19: Sometimes there are no better words to express the feeling of a farewell than a song. Once registered\, participants will have access to all scheduled sessions for the season. \nEN ESPAÑOL \nAgeGuide y Sounds Good Choir presentan un atractivo programa de canto en línea para personas mayores de habla hispana en los condados de DuPage\, Grundy\, Kane\, Kankakee\, Kendall\, Lake\, McHenry\, Will y Cook. Bajo el nombre de “¡Canta! Radio Recuerdos”\, este club de membresía gratuita ofrece una oportunidad única para que los adultos mayores de 60 años se conecten\, recuerden y disfruten de la alegría de cantar desde la comodidad de sus hogares. \nDirigidos por el cantante y guitarrista Juan Díes\, cofundador del conjunto Sones de México Ensemble\, dos veces nominados a los premios Grammy\, y asistido por Alfredo Hernández como maestro de ceremonias\, “¡Canta! Radio Recuerdos” invita a personas que llenen los requisitos de membresía a participar en estas sesiones de música por Zoom. Este club virtual de canto es una celebración de los temas clásicos del cancionero popular de México y otros países latinoamericanos. \nClub regular de canto:\n• Primer y tercer jueves del mes.\n• De 11:00 AM a 12:00 PM. \nSesión de Canto para personas con pérdida de memoria:\n• Adaptada para adultos mayores con pérdida de memoria.\n• Sigue al club regular de canto\, comenzando a las 12:00 PM.\n• Los cuidadores también son bienvenidos. \nSeptiembre 19: Hay veces que no existen mejores palabras para expresar el sentimiento de una despedida que una canción. Las despedidas han inspirado muchas canciones en todos los géneros\, por ejemplo “El Triste”\, “No Me Amenaces”\, “El Reloj”\, “Las Golondrinas”\, “Ella”\, “En Mi Viejo San Juan”\, y muchas más. Con esta presentación nos despedimos de esta serie de canto. Hicimos 28 episodios y nuestro repertorio creció a más de 50 canciones.
