  Corrido is a Mexican ballad tradition that dates back to the 19th Century and that continues to be one of the most popular forms of Mexican music today. Corridos are narrative poems that often celebrate the lives of regular people who show courage in the face of tragic situations, violence and death. Danza de Viejitos: Family Mask Making Workshop

Members of Sones de México Ensemble bring our popular children's educational program to the Woodridge Public Library. We'll teach children how to make a mask out of paper plates and tell them about the traditions of the Pur'hepecha people of Michoacan. At the conclusion, they'll lead everyone in the the dance of "old people" (viejitos), where they can wear their masks.
