Members of Sones de México Ensemble will perform at the April 17 opening night reception of “Escaramuza, the Poetics of Home” at the Poetry Foundation. The exhibition explores escaramuza, the team sport of women’s precision horse riding, addressing complex themes of identity, family, and gender with a lush combination of poetry and photography.

The exhibit features the photography of Constance Jaeggi and the reception will include an artist talk and readings by Mexican American poets Angelina Sáenz and ire’ne lara silva. Members of Sones de México Ensemble will close the reception with music.
