Beyond the Music: A Musical Geography of Mexico

October 20, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Do you know where Tapatíos, Jarochos, Regios, Chilangos, Calentanos and other regional styles of Mexican music come from? What are the people like who created them, and how did their music, dance and traditions come to be like that? Our Beyond the Music series holds the answers.

Experience a guided tour through Mexico’s folk music regions with lively and informative musical demonstrations by the Ensemble. Find out everything you ever wanted to know about Mexico’s regional folk culture and music (but were afraid to ask.)

ADMISSION IS FREE AND OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
Beyond the Music is sponsored in part by the National Endowment for the Arts & The Beloit Public Library 605 Concert Series.
