Pilsen/Little Village: Violin Classes for All Ages
Classes meet on Saturdays Classes meet on Saturdays March 2 – July 1
Families and people of all ages can learn to play guitar or violin and learn about Mexican culture with a professional musician from Sones de México Ensemble.
Parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and siblings are encouraged sign up and bond with each other by learning music and culture of Mexico together as a family activity.
Classes are on Saturdays at Arturo Velazquez Institute Westside Tech City College located in the Heart of Chicago between Pilsen and Little Village in Chicago’s South side. The course consists of one-hour group lessons. The classes are in Spanish and the repertoire is based on Mexican folk music.
The musical training and theory students receive is applicable to any style of music.

- Teacher approved guitars and violins are available for purchase

VIOLIN LEVEL I
PILSEN/LITTLE VILLAGE: Violin Class for All Ages, 9 and Up (Level I)
Time: SATURDAYS, 10AM – 11AM
Students ages 9 and up can now learn to play VIOLIN in Spanish while they learn about Mexican history, geography and culture with a professional musician from Sones de México Ensemble.
VIOLIN LEVEL II
PILSEN/LITTLE VILLAGE: Violin Class for All Ages, 9 and Up (Level II)
Time: SATURDAYS, 11AM – 12PM
This class is for ages 9 and up who have already taken our violin class level 1. This class will focus on bowing techniques, ear training, a new repertoire, and stories about the culture, history and geography of Mexico including the legacy of its pre-hispanic civilizations.
VIOLIN LEVEL III
PILSEN/LITTLE VILLAGE: Violin Class for All Ages, 9 and Up (Level II)
Time: SATURDAYS, 12PM – 1PM
This class is for ages 9 and up who have already taken our Level 2. It will focus on more advanced use of the bow, new repertoire, new techniques (scales, arpeggios, and vibrato), and more about the culture, history and geography of Mexico (the presidents and the principal cities).

She was a lawyer for more than 55 years and an advocate for the LGBTQ community and dedicated her career to defending the most vulnerable. Upon her passing The Ralla Klepak Foundation was established to fund programs that support her vision and her legacy for years to come.
