Beyond the Music, A Musical Geography of Mexico

Sones de Mexico Ensemble and Miami University Ohio present a special live stream version of our signature “Beyond the Music: A Musical Geography of Mexico” program on Zoom.
5:00 PM central / 6:00 PM easten time.
Experience a guided tour through Mexico’s folk music regions with music, narration, and multimedia. Different regions of the country have unique instruments, repertoire, and techniques rarely heard outside these regions. Styles covered include son jarocho, son huasteco, gusto, son istmeño, chilenas, and a dozen other styles.
Conducted via Zoom, the presentation will include pre-recorded material and live Q&A with band members.
